Project Role : Custom Software Engineer Project Role Description : Develop custom software solutions to design, code, and enhance components across systems or applications. Use modern frameworks and agile practices to deliver scalable, high-performing solutions tailored to specific business needs. Must have skills : SAP ABAP Development for HANA Good to have skills : NA Minimum 12 year(s) of experience is required Educational Qualification : 15 years full time education Summary: Manage ABAP for HANA AMS recovery and performance-engineering workstreams, stabilise production services, reduce recurring defects, and improve development and release controls. Roles & Responsibilities: a) Manage diagnostics covering incidents, recurring defects, dumps, jobs, interfaces, locking, update tasks, authorizations, transports and service risks. b) Perform or direct root-cause analysis using ABAP and HANA performance tools, SQL traces, workload evidence and code-quality findings. c) Lead remediation of inefficient database access, legacy ABAP patterns, high-volume processing, unstable interfaces and batch-performance bottlenecks. d) Maintain RAG assessments, problem records, risks, actions, service improvements and a measurable stabilisation backlog. e) Coordinate functional, basis, database, integration, security, testing and SI teams to resolve cross-technical dependencies. f) Assure vendor fixes, estimates, test evidence, deployment plans, documentation, knowledge transfer and service obligations. g) Use SAP Generative AI and Joule for Developers to accelerate incident analysis, code understanding, unit tests, optimization, knowledge articles and custom-code remediation, with traceability and validation. Professional & Technical Skills: a) Must To Have Skills: SAP ABAP Development for HANA, classical ABAP, ABAP Objects, modern Open SQL, CDS views, AMDP, performance tuning and SAP S/4HANA custom-code adaptation. b) Good to have Skills: RAP, OData V2/V4, SAP Fiori/UI5, SAP BTP extensibility, SAP Integration Suite, SAP Cloud ALM and CI/CD. c) Strong knowledge of RICEFW objects, DDIC, reports, module pool, enhancements, BAdIs, SmartForms or Adobe Forms, IDoc, BAPI, RFC, ALE, background jobs, locking and update tasks. d) Experience with code pushdown, CDS associations and annotations, DCL, analytical models, AMDP trade-offs, HANA SQL and performance analysis using ST05, SAT, SQL Monitor and runtime tools. e) Experience with ATC, SCI, CVA, Clean ABAP, secure coding, automated testing, transport governance and controlled exception management. f) Experience with SAP Generative AI capabilities, including SAP Business AI, SAP Generative AI Hub, prompt engineering, grounding, orchestration and responsible integration into SAP delivery. g) Knowledge of Joule for Developers, including code understanding, predictive code completion, ABAP Unit test generation, dependency analysis, code optimization and custom code migration assistance.
