The platform is designed around scalability, resiliency, security, compliance, observability, and operational excellence, enabling teams to consistently run workloads across multiple infrastructure environments.Engineers on the Managed Containers team work on large-scale distributed systems, Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies, with a strong focus on automation-first engineering , infrastructure architecture, and developer experiences—building foundational capabilities that power applications and services across Target. Position Overview: We are looking for a Senior Engineer – Managed Containers with strong platform engineering experience in designing, developing, and operating cloud-native applications and microservices on Kubernetes-based platforms. The ideal candidate is passionate about building scalable, reliable, and secure cloud-native solutions and has hands-on experience with modern application frameworks, Kubernetes, automation, and DevOps practices. Required Skills: • Strong software development experience with Java/Kotlin and frameworks such as Micronaut or Spring Boot. • Experience with Go (Golang) and/or Groovy/Ratpack is a plus. • Strong understanding of microservices architecture, API design, and distributed systems. • Experience implementing GitOps practices using tools such as Argo CD or Flux. • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices.
