The Role The Mainframe CICS Support System Adminstrator role ensures the availability, stability, performance, and resiliency of mission-critical transaction processing systems supporting enterprise business operations. The position requires strong technical expertise in CICS infrastructure, problem determination, performance tuning, incident resolution, and change implementation within a complex 24x7 mainframe environment. Responsibilities Administration: Install, configure, upgrade, and manage IBM CICS software, startup procedures, and resource definitions on z/OS. Performance & Monitoring: Continuously monitor CICS regions, tune performance, and balance workloads to ensure high availability. Troubleshooting & Analysis: Resolve incidents and service outages using CICS dumps, traces, logs, and root cause analysis (RCA). Application & Team Support: Assist application teams with CICS deployments and collaborate with z/OS, DB2, MQ, Storage, Network, and Security teams. Operations & Compliance: Manage change controls, documentation, disaster recovery testing, audit compliance, on-call rotations, and task automation. Required Technical and Professional Expertise Experience & Mainframe Core: 5+ years of hands-on experience supporting IBM CICS Transaction Server environments along with a strong foundation in z/OS operating systems.
