Join us and build for travelers everywhere. Introduction to the team You will be joining Travels Foundation, Expedia Group’s core platform powering pre and post-booking journeys at global scale. At its heart, the Ordering Services team owns the end-to-end lifecycle of every trip—from checkout to post-booking—across all major travel products. We’re looking for an experienced backend engineer and strong technologist to build and evolve highly scalable, low-latency systems that power millions of bookings every day. Operating at the core of Expedia’s transaction platform, our systems process millions of orders and updates daily, ensuring reliability, consistency, and auditability across brands and channels through domain-driven APIs. Join us to shape and scale the ordering platform that underpins Expedia Group’s global travel marketplace. As an SDE II, you will design, build, and operate key components of Expedia Group’s Ordering Services platform, powering critical booking, reservation, and order management experiences across the travel ecosystem. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality, scalable, and reliable services that support order creation, modification, fulfilment, and lifecycle management while ensuring a seamless experience for travelers and partner teams. You will be a hands-on engineer, contributing code, driving technical design discussions, improving system reliability, and collaborating closely with senior engineers and cross-functional partners to solve complex distributed systems challenges. Your work will directly impact the scalability, performance, and resilience of the Ordering Services domain, enabling millions of travel transactions to be processed accurately and efficiently while accelerating innovation across Expedia Group's customer experiences. In this role, you will: · Design, develop, and maintain robust, high-performance services and applications, contributing to end-to-end feature delivery across multiple domains. · Implement clean, testable code, including system design (low-level design), API design, and data modeling, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and maintainable.
